We had a lovely trip to The Heifer Project at Overlook Farm this past Tuesday. February is such a great time to go. Baby animals everywhere! We also learned a lot about the Heifer mission, how many others in the world live, and about world population and resource distribution.

Zach's dad heard our call for a coffee machine that doesn't spill all over itself and answered it! Thank you so much! It's nice when things like that happen.
And here's another opportunity to help: The video crew need a new, flat screen monitor. There are several super awesome video projects going on here at North Star, and a lot of editing happening on the computer in the office. The computer is great, but the monitor is circa 1980 and personally makes me feel like I might have a seizure when I look at it. If you have a monitor you could give us or could donate directly toward the purchase of one, it would be greatly appreciated. Mau, our video class teacher, says we can get a new and wonderful flat screen for under $200. If you can help, please let me know! (catherine at northstarteens.org)

A SUMMER PROGRAM YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
Kroka is a fantastic program in NH that several alumni have gone to and loved. We can't recommend them more highly. Here's what they say about themselves:
Kroka Expeditions is committed to awakening in young people a connection to nature and the spirit within, and a capacity for conscious living and compassionate service. We strive to achieve this through wilderness adventure, community living, farming, and the practice of traditional and indigenous skills.
If you're looking for an exciting outdoor experience this summer you should check them out here!
